释义	the public order act ðəˌpʌblɪkˈɔːdərækt《公共秩序法》：英国国会法案；取代了1986年的旧《防暴法》。该法案是针对1980年代初期在托克特斯；布里克斯顿和其他地方的暴动即一群人的暴力抗议而提出的；警察拥有控制群众和逮捕他们认为威胁公共秩序的人的新权力。该法还根据该法律规定了几项新的罪行；包括暴力失调；威胁行为和不法行为。1994年的《刑事司法和公共秩序法》再次提高了警察的权力。
