释义	吃十方 chī shí fāng亦作吃十方。佛经称八方上下为十方。和尚靠信徒布施，四处化缘度日，故称吃十方。佛经称八方上下为十方。出家人在各处化缘及靠信徒布施维生，称为「吃十方」。只说做和尚的吃十方，看这人倒是要吃廿四方的，莫要理他。《石点头．卷三．王本立天涯求父》也作「吃八方」。
