释义	噍吧哖事件 jiāo bā nián shì jiàn民国四年，台湾尚在日本统治期间发生的抗日事件。民国成立之初，台南长治人余清芳因不满日本军警镇压，暗地结合江定、罗俊等各地志士，以台南噍吧哖今玉井西来庵为基地，计划起义。四年五月，事机败露，罗俊被捕。七月，余、江二人率义勇军在噍吧哖支厅的牛港仔山和日警大战，八月再攻南庄派出所。因武器弹药不足，退至山区农庄，失败被捕。抗日同志被捕牺牲，庄民数千人被集体射杀。此一事件是日本统治台湾期间，规模最大、最为惨烈的抗日活动。
