释义	盤瓠 pán hù古神話中人名。據《後漢書．南蠻傳》、晉幹寶《搜神記》等書記載，遠古帝嚳高辛氏時，有老婦得耳疾，挑之，得物大如繭。婦人盛於瓠中，覆之以盤，頃化爲犬，其文五色，因名盤瓠。按，《玄中記》作盤護。後盤瓠助帝嚳取犬戎吳將軍頭，帝嚳以少女妻之。負而走入南山，生六男六女，自相配偶。其後子孫繁衍。泛指南方少數民族。蠻者，盤瓠之後。族類蕃衍，散處江、淮之間，汝、豫之郡。《周書．卷四九．異域傳上．蠻傳》
