释义	紅毛城 hóng máo chéng位于淡水镇的名胜古迹。明崇祯二年西元1629，由西班牙人所创建，原称为「圣多明哥城」。崇祯十五年由荷兰人接管，改建为军营，因当时荷兰人被称为「红毛人」，遂称为「红毛城」。英人在淡水设立领事馆，于同治六年西元1867与清廷订立红毛城永久租约，至民国六十一年三月撤馆。六十九年六月三十日政府收为国有，整修后开放参观。城的建筑为两层正方形棱堡，红墙屹立，下可俯瞰淡水河。现属一级古迹。
