《五燈會元．龍潭信禪師法嗣．德山宣鑑禪師》:這裏無祖無佛﹐達磨是老臊胡﹐釋迦老子是乾屎橛﹐文殊、普賢是擔屎漢。本指多鬚髯的胡人﹐後泛稱絡腮鬍須。
達摩是老臊胡，釋迦老子是乾屎橛，文殊普賢是擔屎漢。
