亦作阎扶。梵语的音译，大树名。阎浮提的省称。阎浮洲的略称。为梵语 jambu的音译。佛教宇宙观中，以日月照临的范围为一个世界。它以须弥山为中心，山外是大海，四边有四大洲。阎浮洲位在南方。在释迦牟尼佛所教化的世界中，阎浮洲指人所住之世界。
他只在阎浮世界之中，古洞仙山之内。
